Shaun Ryan

Re-Elect | Vice President

“I’m proud to be running for Vice President of Teamsters Local 399.

I’ve been a committed member of this Local for nearly 30 years, working as a Driver, Captain, and Generator operator across multiple states and even overseas. From long hours on set, to tough logistical challenges, I’ve always shown up with professionalism, integrity, and a deep belief in what it means to be a Teamster.

Since January 2023, I’ve had the honor of serving as a Trustee of Local 399, where I’ve worked to uphold accountability, transparency, and member-first leadership.

That experience, along with decades on the job, has prepared me to step into the role of Vice President with the knowledge, dedication, and drive our membership deserves.

I believe in helping our members, especially newer members, better understand our industry, what is means to be a Teamster and how to best succeed in their career and future.”

Amy Gorton

Elect | Recording Secretary

“I am proud to share that I will be running as your Recording Secretary on the Hollywood Teamsters United Slate!

As an 11 year Teamsters Local 399 member, I currently serve as your Communications and Operations Director at Teamsters Local 399. I got my start at the Local almost 12 years ago, as your Communications Coordinator and Member Specialist.

The role of a dedicated staff member to invest in daily communication to members, as well as work to bring the Local into the 21st Century with improved software, technology and the development of tools members could use to better engage with their union every day was the first of its kind at Local 399. Since then, my role has only continued to evolve. I work closely with our Business Agents, Call Board and Front Office team every day finding new ways to support the work of representing members through improved internal systems and procedures.

Over the years, I have been able to implement changes such as online dues payment with recurring bill pay options, upgraded the Call Board with tools for better production, contract and grievance tracking for Business Agents and an enhanced member database for our Front Office and Call Board that also allows members to more easily engage and update their information.

My favorite part of my job however is interfacing with our members through our contract campaigns, telling the story of Hollywood Teamsters and your hard work in the press, and coordinating events alongside many of you such as car shows, rallies, meetings, Union nights and more.

As many of you know, the last 5 years have not been easy. Connecting with our International, Hollywood Unions and Guilds and other labor and community organizations to find and develop resources, as well as collaborate on events, to support our members has been an ongoing priority of mine as of late. This work has resulted in millions of dollars being distributed to my Teamster Brothers and Sisters in the form of financial aid and support during the COVID-19 pandemic, dual strikes and the devastating fires at the start of the year.

Just this year, I was proud to serve as the Communications Chair to our Entertainment Union Coalition taking our critical fight of increasing our film and television tax incentive and members' stories to Sacramento through our ‘Keep California Rolling’ campaign. I also am a representative within the strategic initiatives department at the IBT, focused on supporting our Teamsters Motion Picture Division.

If there is one thing I have learned during my time at the Local, and previous work in non-profit, the fight for working families never ends.

As Recording Secretary, I am committed to continue the work already in motion, knowing there is always more to be done to support our membership and grow and protect our Local for the future.”

Robert Paulsen

Elect | Trustee

“I’m proud to be running as Trustee of Teamsters Local 399 on the Hollywood Teamsters United Slate!

I am a Local 399 Location Manager with 25 years of experience. Born and raised in the Midwest, I learned early on the importance of unions by watching hardworking family and friends in the beer and auto industries of Milwaukee and Detroit. After graduating from college, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television.

As a Location Manager, I have spent more than two decades navigating the demands of productions at both major studios and on independent projects which has required close collaboration with producers, directors, and department heads, as well as negotiating with city agencies and communities to ensure smooth operations on location.

Over the years I have been honored with multiple awards in both television and feature films alongside my incredible team. I take pride in problem-solving under pressure, protecting the interests of the crew, and keeping productions on track. Having spent the better part of my career working in Los Angeles and Southern California, I have a deep understanding of the
importance of keeping filming local and close to home.

In 2019, I was elected to the Location Managers’ Steering Committee and later participated in the 2022 and 2024 contract negotiations with the AMPTP and in 2023, I proudly accepted the role of Shop Steward for our Location Professionals. Most recently, I have worked with the Los Angeles City Council and Los Angeles County Supervisors on streamlining film permitting to cut red tape, lower costs, and increase production in Southern California.

As a Trustee, I am committed to fighting for better working conditions for all my Teamster brothers and sisters and building on the historic contract gains the union has achieved in recent years. While tremendous progress has been made, the work is far from over.”

Joe Mora

Re-Elect | Trustee

“I’m proud to be running for re-election as Trustee of Teamsters Local 399 on the Hollywood Teamsters United Slate!

I am a 20-year Local 399 Teamster Member/Driver. Over the years, I have proudly served as a Shop Steward at Paramount Studios, on the Driver Steering Committee, the Negotiating Committee, and the Political Action Committee. I currently serve on the Executive Board as both a Trustee and a Business Agent.

I am seeking re-election as Trustee. In this role, I remain committed to protecting the best interests of our members and safeguarding our Local. I serve my fellow Brothers and Sisters with no special interests, always guided by fairness, never radicalism.

Member protection is my top priority — plain and simple. Leadership should be trustworthy and responsible — a standard I uphold for my fellow members. Serving as Trustee is not only a responsibility but also a privilege.

Voting for Hollywood Teamsters United slate will continue the hard work of Lindsay and Josh, building on their leadership to keep our Local effective, efficient, and a strong force for the best contract gains for members.

True Teamster leadership stands strong and united in all circumstances.”
